It’s Launch Day!

Welcome to www.catchthemoon.net! Thank you for visiting my website.

A few short years ago, if you had told me that I would be launching my own website and that I would have built it myself, I would have felt excited but sceptical. “Really? Me? Yeah, that would be nice but it probably won’t happen.” And with those few words I would have sealed my fate.

Throughout my life there have been things that I have considered doing and then not done. “I’ve not got round to it yet,” I would say, convincing neither myself nor the person I was trying to deceive that it would one day actually happen. As time went on I would invent more justifications: “I’m not going to do that because….”  [insert excuse, be it money, time, commitments, sick cat etc]. I think about the people I have met during my life and I can see many who, like me, continually don’t do the things that they say they want to do. Maybe you recognise yourself as someone who has that tendency?

Then I studied Solution Focussed Hypnotherapy. My hypnotherapy school, Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training (CPHT for short), got hold of me during our first teaching weekend, they dangled me by my ankles, gave me a good shake, and all of those bad habits and limiting beliefs scattered over the floor (metaphorically – we love a metaphor in hypnotherapy). For that first month after I started the course, I was on fire. My energy was boundless, my sense of contentment and wellbeing never faltered and when, on our next teaching weekend, they asked me, “Rebecca, what’s been good?” I did not know where to start because everything had been brilliant!

The course was excellent and hard work. I had to continually set myself targets and carve out study time during my busy weeks. That initial sense of euphoria calmed down to a steady flame. Those limiting beliefs that I had held onto for so long had not been completely eliminated. My old friend Procrastination would often pop by, and sometimes stay for a few weeks (that was really tedious). The difference, though, was that I had started to shift. I was now able to tell Procrastination when she had outstayed her welcome and, when she started texting me and calling, I ghosted her. I knew what my goal was and I held tight to that goal. My goal was www.catchthemoon.net.

It has been a long and difficult journey. I have never made a website before. I came from a place of complete ignorance about the whole process. I asked friends, who had more knowledge than me, what I needed to do to get started. My old friend Gez O’Brien (https://www.stardotstar.com) designed my gorgeous logo for me. I found an enormously useful video on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AZ8GqW5iak) which took me through the entire website-building process and I watched it, multiple times, pressing pause every few seconds to follow the next instruction in real time. When I reached an impasse, I enlisted Catherine Carr of Indigo Bird (https://indigobird.co.uk) and she, with kindness and expertise, provided me with two hours of training and support which got me over the finishing line.

And here we are. I am ready to launch! What was that thing you said to me a few years ago? “You’re going to launch your own website, and you’re going to build it yourself”?

“Really? Me? That sounds amazing! I’ll get started.”

Welcome to today!

PS. To celebrate the launch of catchthemoon.net I’m offering 50% off all hypnotherapy up until 31/12/2021, when you quote LAUNCH.
